At the Executive Meeting which took place on 17 June in Sitges, Spain, during the 74th Annual Meeting of ICOLD, 65 member countries unanimously approved a Code of Ethics, which aims to guide the conduct of members of the Commission, This Code has been adopted as part of the Constitution of ICOLD, which is acknowledged around the world as the leading professional association concerned with dams. The Code was prepared by the Committee on Governance of Dam Projects (CGDP), created in 2001 by the ICOLD President at that time: Mr C.V.J. Varma. The Committee is composed of experienced people from 22 countries.
