"In 1919, the first wine cask was filled by Vassilis Papagiannakos' grandfather. Since then, the Papagiannakos Estate has dedicated itself to producing fine wines from indigenous and French stem varieties, such as Savatiano, Agiorgitiko (St. George), and Cabernet Sauvignon. Located in Mesogea, Attica, just north of Athens, Papagiannakos Estate believes that its land is blessed by being close to the Temple of Artemis, Sanctuary to Dionysus, the God of Wine. None the less, it is the modern vinification techniques and technology employed by Papagiannakos Estate since the 1960s that has given Vassilis Papagiannakos the international respect and recognition that he deserves."
