During the past 41 years, the MWSP Division has grown dramatically in membership and conference programming. It is expected to continue to grow in the future through the involvement of more minimill and integrated mill operating personnel. In addition, it is hoped that this article will serve as a springboard for creative growth ideas for the division. For example, revisiting the 1961 symposium on the working of continuously cast (including thin slab and thin strip) structures might be particularly relevant with the renewed emphasis and implementation of new casting technologies. This year's MWSP conference will be held October 22-25 at the Sheraton Hamilton in Hamilton, Ontario, You are invited to bring your creation ideas to the attention of the jet.
