Christopher Wilson's "U.S. Competitiveness: The Mexican Connection," (Issues, Summer 2012) seeks to open our minds to an alternative way to think about competitiveness. Too much of the debate on competitiveness has swung between those who stress deregulation and those who advocate a form of industrial policy. Wilson suggests that an alternative path should aim at deepening integration between the United States and Mexico.
