Michio Kaku is the rare individual who is both a top-flight scientist (he is a theoretical physicist who has done path-breaking work in string theory) and a successful popularizer of science and technology. His new book, Physics of the Future, although not on par with his best effort, Hyperspace, is thoroughly enjoyable and definitely worth reading.
