The US Air Force (USAF) has officially solicited offers to meet its T-X training requirement, which includes a potential order of up to 350 new trainer aircraft to replace ageing Northrop Grumman T-38 Talons. The solicitation, published on 30 December, noted that "funds are not presently available for this effort" and therefore no awards will be made "until funds are available".
