President Donald Trump, who took office on 20 January, called for new missile defence systems to address states that may eventually field intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBMs). Trump's missive about 'Making Our Military Strong Again', posted on the White House website shortly after he took office, states a need to develop more missile defences.
