The US Congress has reached an agreement on a fiscal year 2017 (FY 2017) budget that totals USD598.5 billion for US Department of Defense (DoD) discretionary funding, finally settling on an appropriations bill seven months into the year. The legislation, an 'omnibus bill' funding all agencies in one package, was approved by the House and Senate and as of this writing was expected to be signed into law by the president.
