The Israeli Air Force (IAF) announced on 23 August that its Kochav unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) had become operational after successfully completing trials. Kochav is the IAF's name for the Elbit Hermes 900 medium-altitude long-endurance UAV, which is already operational in several countries and is being used to support the UN mission in Mali.
