Seismic equipment specialist Mitcham Industries has purchased Klein Associates from L-3 Communications, the company announced on 5 January. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Klein, which specialises in sonar and waterside security systems, was bought by L-3 in 2003 for USD30 million. Although Mitcham has less experience in the areas of sonar that Klein offers, the company does provide a range of maritime equipment tied to its specialty in seismic sensing.
