Russia has deployed its most advanced intelligence, surveillance, targeting, acquisition, and reconnaissance (ISTAR) aircraft to Syria as the conflict in the Middle Eastern country intensified in mid-February. The Tupolev Tu-214R aircraft was tracked on the open-source Flightfinder24 website on the evening of 15 February flying over Iran and Iraq before heading into Syria and landing at Humaymim Air Base.
