The first two of eight Insitu ScanEagle unmanned aerial systems (UASs), designed to provide intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) capabilities for ground forces, have recently arrived in Afghanistan, according to the NATO-led 'Resolute Support' mission in the country. One of the two systems, deployed to Camp Shorab in the restive province of Helmand, is already being operated by six field service representatives from the coalition alongside three Afghan National Army (ANA) personnel serving as mission commanders.
