Chinese concerns about the US presence in the Asia-Pacific region have prompted Beijing to develop conventional platforms and weapon systems such as the DF-26 intermediate-range ballistic missile (IRBM) and several long-range cruise missiles capable of targeting US military facilities in the area, especially Guam, the US-China Economic and Security Review Commission warned in a 10 May report.
