In retaliation for North Korea's recent ballistic missile launches, South Korea plans to step up its psychological warfare against the communist regime by nearly doubling the number of loudspeakers blaring propaganda over the Demilitarised Zone (DMZ) that divides the two nations. A South Korean military official was quoted by Yonhap news agency on 6 July as saying that 10 new loudspeaker units would be set up on the border before the end of the year, bolstering the 11 static units that are already in place.
