Yemen's rebels - an alliance of the Ansar Allah (Houthi) movement and military forces loyal to former president Ali Abdullah Saleh - have proved they now have ballistic missiles with a range of more than 500 km, but finding acceptable targets is proving problematic. The rebels announced their long-range ballistic missile capability on 2 September when they unveiled the Burkan-1, which Yemen's pro-Saleh SABA news agency described as a 'Scud' that had been modified by Yemeni experts to give it a maximum range of 800 km.
