Brazil's procurement of the KBP Pantsir-S1 (SA-22 'Greyhound') medium-range self-propelled air defence system will be delayed, Minister of Defence Jaques Wagner has announced. According to Wagner, the Pantsir-S1 is still required and Brazil has requested an official pricing and offer from Russia, but Wagner does not anticipate a contract signature in 2015 due to fiscal restrictions. Brazil originally expected to sign a USD1 billion contract in 2013 for 12-18 Pantsir-S1s, composed of mixed missile and 30 mm gun systems on MAN 8×8 platforms.
