The launch of a 'Scud'-type missile at Saudi Arabia confirmed that the air campaign the kingdom and its allies began on 25 March failed to destroy the Yemeni military's ballistic missile capability. The Saudi joint forces command said the Yemeni group Ansar Allah and forces loyal to former president Ali Abdullah Saleh launched the missile at Khamis Mushayt early on 6 June. It said the missile was successfully intercepted by two Patriot missiles. Saudi Arabia was not previously known to have moved any of its Patriot PAC-2 batteries to the south of the kingdom.
