摘要

The US Army would face a USD6.1 billion deficit against its request and struggle to advance a bevy of development and procurement efforts if a full-year Continuing Resolution (CR) budget is used to fund the government in fiscal year 2016 (FY 2016). The US government is currently funded through a stop-gap CR that expires on 11 December. "My biggest fear is a lot of our critical major programmes, we're really going to buy less quantity," said Heidi Shyu, the army's acquisition executive, during a 13 October media briefing at AUSA. She estimated that the Boeing AH-64 Apache procurement would be cut by half, the Boeing CH-47 Chinook remanufacture cut by seven, and the Chinook new-build buy cut by half.
