The recent INR100 billion (USD1.8 billion) cut in India's defence procurement budget will complicate plans to sign a contract for 126 Dassault Rafale fighters to meet the Indian Air Force's (lAF's) Medium Multi-Role Combat Aircraft (MMRCA) requirement, the service's chief said on 6 January."The curtailment of the defence budget will affect the IAF's modernisation," Air Chief Marshal N A K Browne said at a press conference in an indirect reference to the Rafale acquisition.
