The Indian Air Force (IAF) has selected the Airbus Military A330 Multirole Tanker Transport (MRTT) aircraft to fulfil its aerial refuelling requirement, the company announced on 7 January.Beating competition from Ilyushin and its 11-78 'Midas' aircraft, Airbus Military has been downselected to preferred bidder status by the Indian government. This status, otherwise known as L1, affords the company the right to continue sole-source negotiations for up to six aircraft.
