Airbus is considering the unusual step of taking a majority stake to save one of its key suppliers, Alestis Aerospace, it has been revealed. A spokesman for Airbus stated it is not the company's "preferred solution", but talks are continuing with fellow shareholders and a decision is expected "within the next few weeks", he told IHS Jane's on 10 January. "They supply critical parts and we can't accept a breakdown in our supply chains," he said.
