The 6 March revelation by Sergei Mikheyev, the general designer of Russia's Kamov helicopter design bureau, that China's Changhe Aircraft Industries Corporation (CAIC) WZ-10 attack helicopter was designed by his bureau in the 1990s is causing observers to question the level of self-reliance that China's aerospace industry has achieved. Mikheyev revealed that the WZ-10 was based on a Kamov design at the Heli Expo 2013 show held in Las Vegas from 5-7 March.
