The US Navy's (USN's) first Mobile Landing Platform (MLP) is en route to a temporary berthing in Washington state, from where it will conduct final contract trials for the USN's Board of Inspection and Survey, US Military Sealift Command (MSC) told IHS Jane's on 16 July. Crewed by 33 mariners under a charter to MSC, USNS Montford Point (MLP 1) is to be posted at Naval Station Everett and remain there into September to complete the trials.
