The first of the Royal Australian Navy's (RAN's) two new Canberra-class landing helicopter docks (LHDs) is set to begin harbour-acceptance testing imminently, officials have confirmed. Speaking to IHS Jane's at the Pacific 2013 international maritime exhibition and conference in Sydney on 8 October, BAE Systems LHD integrated logistics support manager Wendy Bourke said lead ship Canberra would be moved from the shipbuilder's Williamstown dockyard to the Port of Melbourne's Webb Dock in mid-October, where harbour trials would begin with vehicle loading/offloading tests.
