South Korea is planning to privatise its two major defence assets - Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI) and Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME) -within the next 12 months, Jane's has learnt. The government of South Korea owns a 27 per cent stake in KAI through its Korea Finance Corporation (KoFC) and a 50.4 per cent holding in DSME through its Korea Development Bank (KDB) and the Korea Asset Management Corporation (KAMCO).
