Details of swingeing cuts and reforms to Finland's armed forces have emerged this month under which the Finnish Defence Forces (FDF) will be cut to 16 major units by 2015, leaving only eight army, four naval and four air force formations. Five units are being disbanded: the North Karelia Brigade, one infantry and one engineer regiment and two air force training wings.
