The Israel Air Force (IAF) is conducting an operational review of Elbit Systems' new hyper-spectral payload developed for unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) to see if it can assist in detecting underground tunnels in the Gaza Strip and Lebanon. Developed by Elbit subsidiary El-Op, the payload uses sensitive imaging technology that can remotely distinguish and track targets based on their material signature.
