US Senators John Cornyn of Texas and Robert Menendez ol New Jersey submitted a bill to pass the Taiwan Airpower Modernization Act (TAMA) for Congressional review on 12 September.The act would force the Obama administration to meet its obligations under the Taiwan Relations Act (TRA) and to sell Taiwan 66 or more Lockheed Martin F-16C/D fighter aircraft.US-Taiwan Business Council President Rupert Hammond-Chambers said the bill enjoys "broad bipartisan support in both the Senate and the House of Representatives".
