There are few instances when risk management, legal, financial and human resources all need to be 'on the same page', but one of the most critical examples occurs when companies deploy their most valuable assets -their employees - overseas into either hostile or remote areas of the world.rnUntil recently, US federal government contractors, non-governmental organisations and other companies operating in countries such as Iraq and Afghanistan depended on the US military for medical treatment and evacuation. However, as the number of contractors rapidly multiplied, the military's resources came under strain from the burden of sustaining a civilian population that was quickly outnumbering its own. In addition, the move into non-traditional theatres such as central and eastern Africa created a need to locate and procure 'first world' medical care and accessible evacuation services.
