Raytheon says it will soon sign a contract with the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to produce the Talon laser-guided rocket and is also hoping for future US Army orders.rnJim Byrne, Raytheon's Talon programme manager, said that Raytheon and its partner Emirates Advanced Investments (EAI) are expecting a contract soon to produce the Talon for the UAE's Boeing AH-64 Apache fleet, although he would not say how many systemsrnthe company would provide.rnFlight-testing of the Talon on board the Apache is expected to take place in the UAE in May, he said. Ground-based flight-tests of that Talon, which involved launching the weapon from an M261 launcher on a trailer, were completed in February.
