摘要

The Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN) requires additional surface ships to sustain its current operational tempo of having six ships deployed at sea at any given time, according to RMN chief Admiral Tan Sri Abdul Aziz Jaafar.rn"Currently we are able to maintain our operational level of three ships deployed in waters off East Malaysia and another three in the waters around Peninsular Malaysia at any given time but, in the long run, unless we obtain more ships, the present numbers of ships we have cannot sustain this tempo," he told reporters during a briefing on the current state of the RMN on 24 April in Kuala Lumpur.
