Top US officials say some tactics may be revised but the overall strategy in Afghanistan will not change once General David Petraeus takes over as head of the International Security and Assistance Force (ISAF).rnGeneral Stanley McChrystal's resignation as ISAF commander was accepted on 23 June after he and his staff made disparaging comments about senior US officials in a Rolling Stone magazine article. US President Barack Obama nominated Gen Petraeus for the post.
