The Israel Navy (IN) has been farced to change its modernisation plans for the fifth lime after the German government decided not to fund two new Israeli corvettes and a sixth Dolphin-class (Type 800) submarine.rnWith Germany already providing around EUR300 million (USD386 million) for the construction of two Batch 2 Dolphin-class boats for the IN, which are equipped with air-independent propulsion (AIP) systems, the Israeli government had hoped that Bonn would support the acquisition of an additional submarine and two surface combatants.
