The US Marine Corps (USMC) is preparing to review how to structure, or restructure, its force once operations in Afghanistan come to an end. Traditionally, the USMC has been a maritime-based expeditionary force, but marines have fought ground wars in Iraq and Afghanistan since 2003.rnUSMC leaders have recently spoken about returning to their "expeditionary roots".
