The French defence budget is set to fall from EUR32.2 billion (USD44.3 billion) this year to EUR31.2 billion in 2011, with further cuts expected in the following two years, Defence Minister Herve Morin said on 30 September.rnThe reductions are in line with government efforts to bring down the country's budget deficit from 7.7 per cent of gross domestic product (GDP) this year to 4 per cent in 2013. By then, spending on new equipment will have fallen by EUR3.6 billion, Morin said.
