The German Air Force (Luftwaffe) received its first two Airbus A310-304 Multi-Role Tanker Transport (MRTT) aircraft in late September from the Bundesamt fuer Wehrtechnik und Beschaffung (BWB), Germany's Federal Procurement Agency.rnThis gives the Bundeswehr its first strategic aerial refuelling capability, enabling the Luftwaffe to deploy worldwide and to support international operations with aerial tankers, according to the service.
