The UK government's Strategic Defence and Security Review (SDSR) has set the framework for the next phase of developing defence policy: the publication of a Green Paper on the future of the defence sector. A White Paper will follow in early 2011. Meanwhile, the Comprehensive Spending Review (CSR) has given a defence budgetary framework for the next five years. This is estimated to be a real-terms cut of 8 per cent. Beyond the headlines, the key questions for industry are: so what and what next?
