Azerbaijan is aiming to develop a new security relationship with NATO that goes beyond the "exhausted" remit of the 16-year-old Partnership for Peace (PfP) programme and embraces the country's security threats and defence priorities, Deputy Foreign Minister Araz Azimov said in Brussels on 2 November.rn"The security situation in the Caucasus region is very tense today," said Azimov. "Our security concerns in and around Azerbaijan raise a central point: how to develop our relations with NATO regarding our energy resources, counter-terrorism priorities and cyber-defence concerns."
