Underpinning the UK's future force structure and reducing the domestic defence industry's dependence on the UK defence budget are the key priorities for the British government and Ministry of Defence (MoD) beyond operations in Afghanistan, the UK defence secretary has indicated.rnSpeaking at The Spectator newspaper's 'The Future of Defence Procurement' conference, held in London on 9 November, Defence Secretary Liam Fox outlined the envisaged future path for UK defence following publication of the Strategic Defence and Security Review (SDSR) on 19 October.
