A bipartisan commission created by US President Barack Obama to identify more responsible fiscal policies has recommended significant cuts to major Pentagon procurement efforts among a host of other belt-tightening measures.rnThe National Commission on Fiscal Responsibility and Reform was established in February to propose policy recommendations intended to balance the US budget by 2015 (specifically to reduce US public debt to about 3 per cent of GDP).
