The US Navy (USN) retired its final Bell H-1 Huey' helicopter from service during a ceremony at Naval Air Station (NAS)Fallon. Nevada, on 3 April.rnThe final two HH-1N variant aircraft were being operated as search-and-rescue (SAR) platforms providing cover for military aircrews operating in the region.rnIt is believed that one of the Hueys will be used as a museum exhibit with the other being transferred to the Naval Coastal Systems Center in Panama City, Florida, for research, development, test and evaluation duties.rnThe 'Longhorns', the USN's elite SAR team that operated the HH-1 N at NAS Fallon, will continue its SAR rale with the Sikorsky SH-60 Seahawk. Conversion training has already started in January.
