VT Group is looking towards the end of the current year for "better" acquisition opportunities as it takes a step closer to leaving BVT Surface Fleet, its joint venture (JV) with BAE Systems.rnFollowing the group's announcement that it has served its put option intention notice in relation to its departure from the JV, a spokesman for the group told Jane's on 14 July that VT Group remains focused on increasing its support services business, specifically in the UK and US.rnHe added: "We're still in a situation where there are distressed businesses. By the end of the year there will be better opportunities."
