Sydney-based Tenix Defence, Australia's largest locally owned defence company, is to be sold to BAE Systems in a AUD775 million (USD679 million) deal announced on 18 January. The sale is subject to approvals and is expected to be completed during the first half of 2008. A Tenix Defence spokesman told Jane's that the company expects the sale to go ahead smoothly and for regulatory bodies to grant approval "quickly".
