The US Air Force (USAF) has officially terminated its Open Skies Treaty Aircraft Recapitalization (OSTAR) requirement, following the announcement in May that the US government is to unilaterally withdraw from the international treaty in November. A notice posted on the beta. sam.gov government procurement website declared the formal ending of the effort to acquire two new aircraft for the role. It had been launched with the release of a request for information (RFI) in December 2019.
