UK-based BAE Systems has completed its previously announced acquisition of Raytheon Technologies' military Global Positioning System (GPS) business for GBP1.5 billion (USD1.9 billion). BAE Systems said the business, which develops and produces secure GPS receivers, will complement its existing work on precision-guided munitions. The acquired entity will become part of the Precision Strike & Sensing Solutions business in BAE Systems' Electronic Systems sector. "Together, we will build on our rich histories of providing superior, innovative capabilities to help protect our US and allied warfighters," said John Watkins, vice president and general manager of Precision Strike & Sensing Solutions.
