The US government has approved the sale to Finland of combat aircraft, weapons, equipment, and spares with a view to meeting the country's HX fighter requirement. The State Department approvals, announced by the US Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) on 9 October, cover both the Lockheed Martin offer of the F-35A Lightning Ⅱ Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) and Boeing's offer of the F/A-18E/F Super Hornet and EA-18G Growler. Both packages include weapons, equipment, spares, training, support, and other services.
