Analysis of video footage released by the state-owned China Central Television 7 (CCTV 7) channel on 27 October indicates that the H-6J variant of the Xian Aircraft Corporation (XAC) long-range strategic bomber -previously known to only be in service with the People's Liberation Army Navy Air Force (PLANAF) - is now also being operated by the PLA Air Force (PLAAF). The footage, which was released as part of the 'National Defence Story' TV programme on military affairs, shows an H-6J - armed with four YT-12 ramjet-powered, radar-guided, supersonic anti-ship missiles -landing at an undisclosed airbase and bearing the serial number '11294'.
