Ethiopia's Bahir Dar Air Base was attacked with a long-range precision weapon during the conflict with the rebel Tigray People's Liberation Front (TPLF), commercial satellite imagery indicates. The imagery shows that the weapon hit the base sometime between 4 November 2020, when the TPLF launched its coordinated attack on the Ethiopian National Defence Force's (ENDF's) units in the Tigray region, and 9 December 2020. It left a 5-6 m crater in the middle of the parking apron where the Ethiopian Air Force's MiG-23 jets are normally lined up, suggesting a high-level of precision but a lack of current intelligence as the aircraft had been moved to dispersal shelters by that time.
