The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) announced on 25 May that it has set up a committee to conduct a safety audit and recommend improvements.Made up of serving and retired senior officers, the committee has been ordered to submit its report no later than 18 June.The NAF move follows a crash on 21 May that killed Chief of the Army Staff Lieutenant General Ibrahim Attahiru and 10 other army officers and aircrew as their aircraft came into land at Kaduna airport.The Nigerian Accident Investigation Bureau confirmed the aircraft in that crash was an NAF Beechcraft King Air 350i when it said it would lead the investigation.Another King Air 350i crashed during a surveillance sortie on 21 February, killing seven NAF personnel. The findings of the investigation into that incident have not been announced.
