RUAG International has split its Aerostructures business into two operating units to increase the amount of management attention they receive as they try to rebound from the Covid-19 pandemic, the Swiss aerospace company announced on 18 June. One unit, located in Emmen, Switzerland, will focus on low-rate assembly for customers such as Boeing, Pilatus, and Saab. The other will perform high-rate assembly for Airbus at sites in Oberpfaffenhofen, Germany, and Eger, Hungary. Aviation industry veteran Paul Horstink will lead the Swiss unit, starting in August. Ralf Drees, who became head of the Aerostructures business in March', will shift his focus to managing the Airbus sites.
